ritz crackers for baby?

I'm eating crackers right now and want to know if it would be a bad thing to give one to my 8 month old baby. He eats stage 3 food and has 2 teeth now.

  • I think he would be fine with a cracker. My son loved ritz crackers, just watch him.

  • I gave my daughter crackers at about 7 months, he should be fine just keep an eye on him cuz those little gums are strong and he could get a good sized chunk off, also keep something to drink nearby for him, crackers are dry so he may get pretty thirsty!

  • HI, good answers. I was going to just ditto everyone eles, LOl yes, as long as you keep an eye on her. Crackers can be dry sometimes but like the mOm's are saying their gums are strong even without teeth they can peck off a bit to big a piece and get choked. Also someone mention keeping a drink near by to help with the dryness.
I think babies when they get past 6 months or so love a little more substance the liquids are fine but their bodies need more nourishment and need to be fill more.
    Good luck with little one.
sounds like she loves to eat. Lol

    Thanks everyone!

  • Should be OK to gum it but break i up more and be minful of the dryness of it and salt

  • I think its okay. They are awfully salty though, so next time you go to the store pick up some reduced salt or reduced fat, they'll be just a bit helathier.

  • Wheat is an allergy trigger food that should not be given to babies before age 1. Sure, you will hear from moms who's babies had wheat before 1 and don't have allergies; and there are smokers who won't get lung cancer..
