HAS ANYONE TRIED A HAIR DRYER FOR AN EARACHE???

OKAY THIS WAS ACTUALLY IN A BOOK I READ ,TWO WEEKS AGO I HAD THE WORST EARACHE OF MY BLIFE AND I WAS DESPERATE,I USED THE BLOW DRYER AND GET THIS IT WORKED FOR A FEW HOURS!UNTIL IN COULD GET TO THE CLINIC. I THOUGHT I SHARE THAT FOR THE LADIES WITH CHILDREN.IF I HADN'T TRIED IT I WOULDN'T HAVE BELIEVED IT!

  • i've heard of it, it makes sense b/c the warm air dries up the fluid in ur ear

  • i would never ever do that. cause when I have an ear ach/infection just a breeze from the wind irritates it.

    I too have heard of this but don't you put the blow dryer next to the ear?
    Not blow it in your ear? How do you do this correctly?

    Either way just along as it works I guess, I usually just put a little piece of cotton ball in my ear until I go visit the doctor. Thanks again :)

  • Or you can try a cloth bag or sock with rice in it. Heat it up in the microwave for about 30 seconds to a minute, not to hot and hold it to your ear. This works for me.

  • I use a heating pad- the one I have for back pain, actually. Just hold it over the ear.

  • I would use apple cider vinegar and a warm compress...
