when can you give honey?

I forgot the age when its ok to give raw honey. I was thinking its at a year, but I'm not quite sure.

  • I was always told one year as well. My daughter is 15 months, and she has never had raw honey. I don't know that is because I am wary to do because of the risk though. I think I just haven't had the opportunity to do it.

  • I heard you shouldn't give honey until the child is 3 yrs old... because of the allergy risk. You should ask a pediatritian to be sure though.

  • Do not give a child honey before age two. It is not an allergy risk; honey carries botulism.
    If you are looking for a liquid sweetener, try agave syrup.
