  • No white, no pastels. Bright vivid colors photograph best. Be careful of prints..they can be too busy and distract the eye.

  • My son has worn darker colors for his pictures. His first ones were when he was 5 months old. He had on a solid red short sleeve polo shirt, and plaid red/brown shorts. The pics turned out great. For his 1 year pics, I put him in a solid maroon short sleeve polo shirt, and maroon/navy plaid shorts. I see a pattern here ... LOL. But those turned out great too. To me, he looks better in darker colors, maybe because he has paler skin and doesn't look so washed out like in lighter colors? Not sure, but that is my experience.

If you're going back and forth between outfits, take a few with you and you can do a wardrobe change.

  • I have three albums filled of his first year, so there's definitely not a shortage of photos documenting his life so far, but i just didn't see the need to spend a fortune on sitting fees when my pics come out just as nice. Thanks, aa9902 for your suggestions.
