  • Well, you can start with having your furniture and carpets shampooed, then you'll have to wash your window dressings maybe replace any shades that you have... they say to deodorize your walls with a baking soda mixture (1 Tbs baking soda + 1 tsp lemon juice to 2 cups hot tap water in spray bottle) test in a hidden area first to see if it's harmless to your paint/wallpaper. It'll take a lot of work when doing it yourself, OR you can call a professional to get the whole thing done. Also, whether with a professional or not, it's a good thing to open your windows on a daily basis (weather permitting). Good luck!

  • Put out small bowls of cloudy ammonia. Use several bowls all over where the smoke smell is.  Leave them sit for a few days if need be. We had a neighbor's apt catch fire but the whole building had smoke damage. Believe it or not the cloudy ammonia worked like a charm But make sure it is cloudy (looks like watered down milk) ammonia

  • Use an ionizer in the room. Or put baking soda on fabric. Wash the walls, and have carpet and furniture steam cleaned :)
