Is it true that green tea, even in small amounts, is harmful to a fetus?

I heard this from my SIL.

  • What I've read is that some doctors have a concern it may effect folic acid levels, but it would still take a lot of it to do so. It's not more harmful than soda or iced tea.

  • Nahhh... Well, I'm in my first pregnancy and I'm only 5 weeks but I've heard no such thing... I have heard that too much caffeine can cause mc's so ever since I buy caffeine free everything and decaf coffee. I only drink coffee in the morning. However, my mother says she lived off of caffeine when she was prego with me...
