17 weeks pregnant, when i lay on my back?

when i lay on my back, propped up with pillows or not, within a few minutes i will get this crazy cramp, doesn't hurt a bit, that makes my stomach swell up rock hard. fine, uterus not stomach. did anyone else get this? it's pretty neat but pretty strange.

(i know, sleep on your side, don't pinch the vena cava and smush the babys oxygen)

  • You can lay on your back-I lay on my back, hell I sleep on my tummy and both my kids are fine.
you cant control how you sleep, as for the rock hard tummy, its braxton hicks, but it shouldnt hurt!

  • LAYING ON UR BACK: presses on the vein that returns blood from ur lower body to ur heart. Lying on ur back for a little bit can interfer w/ the flow of blood and nutrients to the placenta and ur developing baby. LAYING ON UR BACK increases weight of ur uterus presses on the major vein that returns blood from ur legs to ur heart and can also make baby's heartbeat slow.
