  • If you have a meal plan, meaning a WRITTEN plan for daily meals, it's much easier to remember to get the ingredients prepared, to have the meat out, to NOT have to make a decision 1 hour before dinnertime on what to have for dinner. You can also make things ahead of time like biscuits, salads, cakes, etc and not have to do everything last-minute. Menu planning allows you to plan around your family's schedule.

Another thing is to try to incorporate crockpot meals into your menu. Put the ingredients in, cover and forget about it for 8 hours! Sure makes it easy when you've got hungry kids/hubby/pets underfoot at dinnertime or when everyone eats at different times (the food is kept hot and they can dig in as they are ready to eat.)

  • In my life it's the unexpected complications, forgot to set out meat, forgot to buy one key ingredient, key ingredient got used up, schedual change nobody told the mom about...etc.

  • Probably because you don't plan meals before you go to the grocery store; this also costs you more money.
