child support???

I don't get child support because although we're not married, we live together and he provides for our child. I heard from a friend, eventually they will make me go after child support to keep the caresource card for my child. Is this true? I really don't want to get child support since he already does everything a father should do. I'm in ohio if that helps any. Thanks.

  • ooo medicaid doesnt go after daddys TANF will...they dont play lol...but in my state NC if you claim his income..theres nothing else they can do about it..he's your SOLE support no need to send child support. it may be different for different programs in your state!! i wouldnt stress but you could ALWAYS double check to be completely sons on medicaid! health care is too high and we DEF dont have the money for it!

  • technically you ARE recieving support since hes in the home. i dont know what the caresource card is...but if its anything like what we have here...if your getting support and its still not enough they dont take things away from you. Are you claiming his income at all? if so i dont see how your situation could change!

  • yes we claim his income, but we don't "technically" receive court ordered child support. but since he's only working through a temp agency, health insurance is not offered. oh and caresource is like the medicaid card.

  • In Ohio if you are on any PA including medicaid they will want him paying support if you are not married. I despise this state sometimes
