  • Try your city's parks department. Organized stuff doesn't usually start until 3 or 4 but there are usually skill building classes for younger toddlers.
My daughter has been in a Play Ball class that teaches beginning ball skills, a beginning gymnastics class that was very much free play and try things out, a beginning ice skating class (did you know ice skates come that small!?!?!?), a beginning dance class that let's the kids move any way they want.

  • I'm thinking there used to be a program called gymboree (sp?). Check online or your local yellow pages. :) One to two year olds can't really learn rules and games yet. They learn so much by free play at this point. :) But they do like to mimick, so a gym class that incorporates mommies can be fun.

Also, swim lessons are really fun, and I would do one that allows you to be in the pool with the little one, b/c then you are able to continue to work with her/him after the classes. :)
