Why does he spit while taking his bottle?

My almost 5 month old son tends to squirt some milk out of the side of his mouth as he's drinking. I can't figure out why, if it's the bottle (it's Avent) or the nipple or what. he's on a level 2 nipple (0-3 months) so maybe he needs a faster flow? i hate that we're wasting so much milk during a feeding. tia!

  • Both of my boys did that. I figured it was just something they did and it eventually stopped.
