  • When I was in HR I did not hire anyone from a for-profit school. They, by law, exist to make money for owner/shareholders; education is not their priority.

  • My aunt got a job at a university & she finished up her degree w/ the University of Phoenix.

  • Just because a person has a degree from a certain school doesn't mean a company will or won't hire that person, typically it's more of a "does this person fit what we need" regardless of where that person went to school.

  • many employers do not consider University of Phoenix to be on par with other schools. U of P is everywhere and more like a community college or on line college. I think it depends on the degree you are seeking. You may be better off going to a similar off-shoot of your local, more well know state school. Many schools have an on-line program for adult learners that are better than U of P.

  • My husbands company does not hire University of Phoenix graduates. Many companies will not.

  • Current employer would- but I haven't even graduated yet. The employers I'm looking at after college won't take a degree from UOP. Which is fine with me- it's cheaper to take online classes from a community college rather than UOP.

  • I know that several engineering companies have a policy against U of P
