Why would a landlord not come around for moths for rent?

He was trying to sell the place before. He as taken no legal actions to get people moved out of here. We found out last anout a month ago whenthe for sale sign was taken down by the broker that the property was moved off the market.

Any clues? I'm confused.

  • foreclosure sounds about right. i would defintley be looking for a new place. If he hasnt collected from anyone, then hes running from that property. If it were just you, then Id say that he may want to evict you and get you on the 'not paying rent' thing. Take that rent and put it down for a deposit somewhere else before your kicked out when it forecloses. this has been happening to alot of people lately. oh, wait, there is a website you can go to, I dont know if its only for california, but there is some website for tenants to find out if this is happening to the home they are living in I remember seeing this on the news. what state are you in?

  • Oh no it does sound like foreclosure. Definitly use that money he isn't collecting for a down payment on rent then see if you can get it to court so you might get your deposit back.
