do you agree or disagree with the following statment?

Jesus himself had nothing to say about homosexuality, but he’s very clear on divorce. You can’t do it. And what I don’t understand is why gay people are the only people in America who have to follow biblical law. I don’t think that’s fair. We could also have other debates about what the Bible does and doesn’t mean, but I think what it boils down to is that gay people should deal with the same standards as straight people. And when straight people start upholding biblical law in civic culture, then maybe gay people should consider it, but not until then.

  • If you read 1st Corinthians, you will find that divorce is advocated in a few situations. Adultery, for example. Also if your spouse is not a Christian, it is allowed.

  • Once again, our FOUNDING FATHERS were Christian. Therefore the laws of the land (The Constitution) were based in whole or in part on Christian beliefs. Gay marriage is/was not something endorsed by the Catholic Church or Christian denominations. Therefore it is illegal, except in those states where it has recently become legal.

All gay marriage does is make a mockery of traditional marriage. Regardless of who marries whom and where they do it, I will never acknowledge a gay marriage as being equal to that of a traditional marriage.

you really need to read your history!!!  The founding fathers were NOT christian. your religion has no place in my laws.

"Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between man and his God, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legislative powers of government reach actions only, and not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should 'make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,' thus building a wall of separation between church and State. " - Thomas Jefferson (he wrote the declaration of independence in case you didn't know)
