IS it safe to give my 8 month old regular gold fish crackers?

She's good at eating stuff like that, but I can't tell if they're too big or not? Anyone else feeding their child goldfish crackers?

*note, I'm not talking about the kind you can buy in the baby food section*

  • I'm sure she'll be fine. Crackers aren't really a choking hazard. Just make sure she's only eating one at a time.

  • NO! My daughter was 8 mos old eating goldfish at daycare and she began to choke, they had to do the heimlech maneuver on her. It scared the crap out of me! I wouldn't do it. There are plenty of other foods that are a hell of a lot safer. They don't dissolve quick enough.

  • Her face turned purple, she was really choking!

  • If you break them up into tiny pieces, they should be ok. My daughter is 11 months old, and on the rare ocassion that she gets goldfish crackers, I STILL break them in half. Betterto be safe, right??
