Moms! Does it make you selfish if you sometimes put your needs before your child's?

I'm not talking about a life or death scenario.

  • Sometimes we moms need to be a little "selfish".

  • depends on the need...if your kids shoes are too small and yours are dirty and you get yourself a new pair first...then yes you are being selfish. if it means, letting your kid CIO in the other room, while you read a magazine or play on cafemom, then no. if they are in the other room, crying bc they a have a poopy diaper, then yes, its selfish. but its not selfish to do somethings for yourself...we are not just moms, we are normal people too.

  • Depends on what it is. If you've been home all week and have an opportunity to get a baby sitter and go out then no. As long as it doesn't leave your kid without suppervision and being fed and it's not a daily thing it's fine.

  • Depends on what it is. If its a want, then no, it isn't. Kids don't need a ton of stuff, neither do adults. Buying myself a magazine isn't selfish if my child is wanting a new hotwheel toy.

  • Yes. It's always a selfish act to put your needs ahead of your child's. It's not always wrong, but it is always selfish.
