What are some good ideas for a First Birthday Party??

I have to throw 2 parties for my DD; one at my moms and one at my dads. Plus I'm broke so we're going kinda cheap. What some good ideas and themes? And what are some presents you would recommend?

  • clothes, (you can always exchange) dollar store/tree if you have one for plates and all, then wal mart and some other stores usually do a free individual first b-day cake. hit up 2 places lol lol. little riding toys, anything w/ noise. my kids love play phones. outside toys to. bubbles exc... its a fun time. take lots of pics! bake your own cake and be creative. go w/ whatever theme you can find at the dollar store. usually flower or pastels.

  • I wouldn't have 2 parties in the first place but that's just me--and my parents are divorced too.

Get a few helium balloons at the dollar store. Use plain white paper plates, napkins, cups, and forks...they don't need to be fancy to have a good party. Pick out a cute cake or make one yourself.

Gifts-- clothing for the next season, cash for his piggy bank, maybe a few toys, BOOKS!

  • Keep it short and sweet. Maybe 2 hours the most, don't serve food, just cake and ice cream. As for presents, only buy her what she really needs. Like clothes, a few toys, even diapers. I also have a girl who will be one next week! Good luck.

  • Do u have a baby pool yet? How about a baby swing for presents? A ride on toy. Board books- Dora the explorer, etc. Dollar store for decorations and paper plates. Make a cake yourself- boxed mix- Betty Crocker.
