  • no, crystal light has aspartame in it, which has over 92 side effects including birth defects and even death.

  • There is no good evidence linking aspartame with any of those nasty things that websites like to freak people out about. It's good to stay hydrated. If you need your water flavored (it took a while, but I can drink plain water now), there is nothing wrong with Crystal Light. In fact, I buy the generic stuff. It's cheaper and tastes just as good.

Aspartame is broken down into formaldehyde. Which sounds really scary until you realize that this chemical is naturally produced by the body when breaking down sugars. Again, the evidence just isn't there that it causes harm. However, no sense in feeling guilty every time you drink it. If you don't feel comfortable drinking it, than don't drink it. You can buy concentrated lemon flavoring and just put a few drops of that in your water if you need some flavor. =)
