  • My mom always takes cornbread salad. it is layer in a truffle dish with corn, tomatoes, green pepper, sour cream w/ ranch pkg, rinsed beans. I wish I knew the is so good I always beg for it, but it is alot of chopping.

  • Usually deviled eggs. I use my mother's old recipe: hard cook and peel and halve. mash the yolks with a fork. add enough vinegar to make a nice paste- start with a couple tablespoons for a dozen eggs, about a teaspoon of sugar, salt to taste. Check how it tastes. It should have a bit of a snap but the sweet undertone.

  • Baked Ziti, red beans and rice, mexican cornbread, pasta salad, hoppin johns, or sometimes I'll make a homemade version of green bean casserole.

  • Corn muffins

1 box Jiffy corn bread mix (or other similar size mix-about 7-8 oz)
1 8 oz can cream style corn
    1 egg
    1 tbs brown sugar.

Place mix in a medium bowl. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix until just combined. Pour into muffin tins and bake according to package directions.

  • Hershey Pie
2 large Hershey bars (with almonds - optional but my favorite)
    2 graham cracker crusts
1 large and one small Cool Whip

    Thaw Cool Whip thoroughly

    Melt chocolate bars until smooth

Mix together, divide into crust - refrigerate

You can also freeze one if you only want to take on pie and save one for later
