Sex after c-section

I just got home from my 2 week post-op appointment and realize I forgot to ask my doctor when it's ok to have sex again... how long do they usually tell you to wait after a c-section?

  • 6 weeks, so the rest of your body can heal. You are not suppose to use tampons or anything else that goes into your vagina until 6 weeks is up.

  • Be careful, seriously. My friend had sex at just 2 1/2 wks pp and she ended up hospitalized for 2 weeks with a very serious uterine infection. I'd wait for doctor's permission.
