Pregnancy Testing

I know you are supposed to test in the morning, but if you test in the afternoon and get a negative, what are the chances of this being true, or could it be false negative? what are your thoughts?

  • The reason why you're supposed to test in the morning is because in the afternoon your urine could very well be diluted and the hormone will be too faint to pick up. If you are testing before your period is due or you're not sure when your period was due and you get a negative, the best thing to do is wait one week and test again. If for some reason you MUST know, you can ask a doctor for a more sensitive urine test or a blood test.
