Do you have a habit of stocking up on things? If so what?

I ask this because right before school lets out, I know I will be off work for 10 weeks and I start stocking up so that my grocery bill isn't so painful throughout the summer. I hae developed a thing about always having pads, paper products, toiletries, make-up and coffee and creamer. Yet, I never seem to stock up on water. What do you stock up on?

  • Hi Gigi,
We routinely stock up every payday. We replace what we used and spend an extra twenty buying extra supplies. Such as hamburger, frozen or canned veggies. Instant lunch stuff.
Since we have started doing this I lost my job. I have to say it has saved our butts. It only takes a little bit. Instead of buying one can of soup buy two. It adds up eventually.
I have been doing this for about a year. We can now skip one payday of grocery shopping if absolutely neccesary.

  • We buy in bulk on a lot of things (but I have a family of 5). But things that I always have a lot of extra in are TP, tampons, toothpaste, toothbrushes (learned this one after one of my boys tried to clean the toilet with theirs) and I always have rice hanging out around the house. It seems like I cook it a lot so I make sure that it's always around. I also buy more laundry detergent, dishwasher detergant, fabric softner, and deodorant when it's on sale.
