  • This passage talks about "doing the Will of God", it is not speaking of "good works". People who do not know God - and do not want to know God - do good works every day, and they will most certainly not live forever. But the one who does the will of God will live forever.

This passage is talking of loving God with all your heart, mind, and body; living for God and Him alone, is doing the Will of God.

  • No our good works dont live forever, what it is talking about is that the man who does the will of God lives forever. This is meaning eternally after we die and go to heaven. Oh, and you have to do more than good works to enter heaven. How about being born again and accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savoir---That is how you know you will enter heaven!

  • Do Not Love the World
15Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16For everything in the world—the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does—comes not from the Father but from the world. 17The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.

in context ( and after this verse speaks of many anti christs.
Anyway this talks about christians not loving the things of the world and unbelievers loving the things of the world. The things of the world and all the people of the world will pass on but He who does the will of God will live forever. The earth will be renewed, a new heaven and a new earth and those that live on it are the ones that did the will of the Father. ( the believers)

  • This is my input..We all have wordly desires whether it be....money, power, big house, popularity, good looks, best clothing,, men. etc...But, the people who put their lives in God's hands and want His will for our lives will live forever with Him in eternity.

  • God is mostly concerned about the world's ideals, its standards, its concepts of right and wrong. These influence the way we look at everything, and produce inclinations, attitudes, feelings, and the purposes for which we live. In the final tally, the world's standards are short-sighted and selfish—unlike God's, which are eternal and outgoing.

  • A person who is obedient in acceptance of God's will (which includes the acceptance of Jesus Christ's atoning death) will be rewarded with eternal life. If we live after and love the ways of this world, we will receive this world's reward.
