What's the deal with mechanically separated meats?

I've looked it up, and still dont understand what the big deal about it is. So a machine was used to take the meat off the bone. So what? Why is it supposedly so bad for you? I understand the beef part of it, with the bovine-whatever disease, but if it's pork and poultry, whats wrong with a hotdog???

  • Putting aside the environmental impact of farm animals (just below cars), hot dogs are loaded with toxic ingredients. I can't understand why someone would eat them let alone feed them to a child.
