  • hmmm, Ive always heard that you can get pregnant the week before and the week after your period. But, sperm can also live inside of you for 3-5 days I believe..
She just might have to get a blood test to find out. What does her Dr. think?

  • You get pregnant when you ovulate. You ovulate 14 days before you period comes. It doesn't matter how short your cycles are. Sperm can live for 3 to 5 days so there is about a week or so there that you can get pregnant. If she is consistently having 23 day cycles have her count forward from the beginning of her last period and then back 14 days that should give you some sort of time frame.

  • She cant wait to get a blood test! her Ex boyfriend doesnt want any kids right now.. and the doctor says that she got pregnant on the 7th of july which would mean that her ex got her pregnant, but she said the dates dont add up!! And she has done alot of research she thought she was spotting but it was really that the egg was implanting itself in the uterus..she doesnt know what to do!

  • you get pregnant from sperm.... if sperm has been in or near your vagina... you are at risk... of creating life! If you don't want to make a baby and you don't know how.... u should get some birthcontrol and pick up a book

  • There is a lot of misinformation posted above, please read these facts and have your friend contact her doctor with any questions.

    Key Facts of Ovulation:
An egg lives 12-24 hours after leaving the ovary
Normally only one egg is released each time of ovulation
Ovulation can be affected by stress, illness or disruption of normal routines
Some women may experience some light blood spotting during ovulation
Implantation of a fertilized egg normally takes place 6-12 days after ovulation
Most women ovulate anywhere between Day 11 - Day 21 of their cycle, counting from the first day of the LMP. This is what many refer to as the "fertile time" of a woman's cycle, because sexual intercourse during this time increases the chance of pregnancy. Ovulation can occur at various times during a cycle, and may occur on a different day each month.

  • depends on the woman. Some women's eggs get released during their period... some right after... some weeks after. You can watch your body and can usually tell if you pay attention when you usually ovulate.

  • With her activity with the two men being so close together, it really could be either. She could have been fertile during both occasions... every woman is different. I wouldn't use the doc's date as a guide in which to decide which man to tell. I'd tell them both. Honesty is always the best policy. Paternity can't be sorted out now anyway.

  • You most definitely can get pregnant during your period. As far as trying to figure out who the father may be can be tricky. She may have to get DNA tests done to find that out because of her irregular periods. She can talk to her doctor and he/she may be able to tell when she actually conceived. Good Luck to your friend.
