My son is 5 months old and LOVES to walk when holding on to our hands. Should I be concerned that he could become bow legged? He stands up strong on his legs and it doesn't look like they are bowed at all. Any advice?

  • It's an old wives tale that putting weight on baby's legs will cause them to bow. As long as he isn't uncomfortable putting weight on them you are fine.

  • if you're worried about it, you can buy those litte white high-top tennis shoes for him to help support his ankles.

And do not go with high-top shoes. That's old advice too. Kids do best barefoot - it lets the muscles in their feet and ankles do what they are designed to do. Shoes prevent that development. If he must have something on his feet due to cold floors, try socks with grippy bottoms or soft soled shoes like Robbez.. you can find both at Target.
