Breastfeeding question...

Okay so it seems that my 3 month old is eating less, at least less minutes! He used to nurse for 15 min about 10 times in 24 hours. Now he is nursing about 10 min about 9 times in 24 hours! Is it true that as long as he has 6 wet diapers he is getting enough?

  • As long as he's having plenty of wet and poopy diapers, he IS getting enough! Just nurse on demand, whenever he wants for as long as he wants, and you should be fine :) keep up the good work!

  • Oh yes. Diaper count is where it is at. Baby is becoming more efficent at eating. Getting the same amount in less time. Count yourself lucky, and congrats on choosing to breastfeed!

  • Just keep counting diapers. As they get older they get more efficient which means it takes less time to eat. My son hardly ever nursed for longer than 10 min.

  • Yep. And it's perfectly normal for a baby to get more efficient and to consolidate feedings.
