i have an orchid

and the flowrs are dying off. instructions say to cut it at the spike. i went online to find pics or find out what that means.....what is the spike? where would i cut my flower at? i don't want this one to die like my last one. it's so pretty

  • dont cut anything anon is right blooming is just about up.

  • the blooming time for orchids is almost up, so its going to happen either way but dont throw it away it will come back next season, just keep putting the ice on it three times a week to keep the roots healthy. its not dying the bloom is just pretty much done.

  • ice i thought you didn't water the flower much. i have only watered it twice since i got it and that was mothers day. yikes. are you sure about the amount of time to ice it?
