diaper question.

i haven't had any luck whatsoever in finding a diaper that doesnt leak poo out the side, it doesnt happen all the time just sometimes. i tried to go up a size but they were too big and just made an even bigger mess. ive tried huggies, pampers swaddlers,babydry-which seem to work the best so far, and luvs. any suggestions?

  • well I think you answered your own question. If babydry is working then stick with it. You have to experiment with diapers to find which ones are right for your baby.

  • How old is your baby? Newborns are just that way. You can buy every diaper imaginable, and a newborn (up to 2 months or so) will just leak like that. The only thing I've found that works are the diaper covers that are really snug. BEWARE: It may keep the poop inside, but it's a HUGE mess to clean up.

  • We use luvs and only luvs and so far i've found that they are the best at keeping the poo where it belongs, if ya know what i mean.

  • I use the Costco brand (Kirkland) and they worked great for us. However, there is a period there where the texture of the poo is just impossible to keep in their diaper....especially if you have one that doesn't go for a few days and then has an explosion. =) Other than that, maybe your diapers are too big. Leaking out the side is generally an indication that the diaper is too big....leaking up the back is too small. Good Luck!

  • Yes, as others have said, there's no diaper I've ever heard of that takes care of all those poop explosions, especially when they're on an all-liquid diet. It won't last forever. We were happy with Huggies overall and have stuck with them for both our girls. We haven't had poop leak out for our 9 month old in many, many months...
