what happens to your eggs??

right now im on the depo going to get my third shot tommorow almost 9 months ive been on it and i have not had a period...while i do like not having a period (very much) i want to know what is happening to my egg where does it go?? does it just dissapate..?

  • you don't release any egg. please look up about the side effects of the shot. as you get older, it speeds up the loss of bone mass.

  • thank you i do know about the bone loss..i supplement calcium with it. right now it seems best but sooner or later i want to get an iud

  • It will not take longer to reach menopause. You should be asking this to your doctor, I think the eggs eventually just die off (menopause).

  • Not the op i was just curious...i know you don't hit menopause until a certain # of eggs have been released, so if you are keeping them from maturing and being released it would stand to reason.
