Today is my in-law's 50th wedding anniversary. Isn't it nice. Can you imagine you and your DH celebrating it?

I can. It'll be in the year 2044 though and I'll be nearly 75. My husband will be 83. I hope we live to see that.

  • LOL...hope we're around to celebrate it too! I'll be 82 and hubby will be 88. I told him if we make it that far, he can go out and start dating again...I'll even give him a head start! LOL :o)

  • Congratulations to your in-laws....it's so wonderful to know that a relationship really can survive all that time. For me, no...unfortunately, my "DH" and I are currently separated and getting a divorce, so I definitely won't be seeing us celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. :( Maybe the one will come along someday though.

  • Congrats!

I don't now if I can see that far into the future for hubby and I. We can barely make it through a year let alone the last...six. So we'll just see. Congratulations to your in-laws though! THat's great!

  • I doubt we make it to 50. We'd be 73 years old. My in-laws made it to 35 before my fil died (he was 63) and my parents were together 29 years (married for most of them) when my mom died (she was 51). She actually died like a week before their anniversary. We've been together for 10 years now and married for 9 1/2 of them.

  • No, because he'd be in his late 90's and Id be in my late 80's.

IF he lives that long....awesome but if you go by genetics that would be a miracle.

  • We will be 76 when we celebrate our 50th. If we are like our grandparents and we both make it to our 100s we will see 75. My grandparents married when they were both barely 17 they were married 85 years.

  • No, I cannot see that for me and my DH. He gets on my nerves and he sucks in bed.

  • No because we're already separated and on our way to a divorce. Congratulations, though! I think that is awesome and you both should be very proud.
