  • its a braxton hicks contraction, which is basically practice contractions. so in a way they are, but the real thing will be stronger, last longer, and start to get closer together the further along into labor you get. whereas braxton hicks contractions generally are not painful (they were for me), don't have any set length of time between them, and they usually go away w/walking, laying on your left side or drinking water.

  • I agree with the first post. Also, real contractions will pretty much stop you in your tracks. They hurt!!

  • I second it, the braxton hicks contractions are easy compared to the real deal. With walking the BH will generally go away whereas the real contractions will get stronger and closer with walking.
