How to you get a husband to take anti-depressants or get some?

Dh is having thyroid problems for 2 years, so he is emotional from that and trying out medication for it (which, yes does mess with hormones), his dad found out he has prostate cancer, but is dealing with it well. And he started a new position last year (manager), we had a lot of stress at our condos (they just barged in and decided to rip out walls for construction, plus then they billed everyone for it). Soooo between health, stress, lack of money, and family stuff...he's an emotional wreck and so annoying to be around. He won't take them or entertain the idea for nothing. I'm tired of his hot headed stubbornness. I'm tired of him teaching our son to act like that. He needs some anti depressants dang it.

He's negative, he's moody...almost every other day at least and over dumb things. He sees the worst in every situation. He brings my positive attitude down. He sulks. He's overly emotional. WTH?

  • He would feel so much better if he would take his meds. Ask him if he is happy the way he is feeling. You could tell him that a friend of yours (me!) said that she has a relative who didn't bother with her meds and when she started taking them she felt like a human being and able to cope again. Maybe you could get him to the doctor and have the doctor discuss it with him.

  • Depression medicine has proven not to work for many people at all. Plus it kills sex drive and causes weight gain. BOTH of those do not sound healthy. Fruits are NATURAL mood elevators. It's PROVEN. You could probably benefit from them more. I know this sounds weird, but male enhancers have a lot of good ingredients that make a person healthier. If you're unhealthy, it plays a BIG role in your mood. Change the diet, and find some kind of male performance enhancer pills (all natural) because they lower cholesterol, promote blood flow, energy, and make you feel better.

  • Anti-depressants are for people who are depressed for no reason. It sounds like he has plenty of reason. Including how you are treating him. Help him deal with his emotions without making him feel like less of a man. Don't push drugs on him.
