Wierd car trouble. Can anyone mechanically inclined give advice?

We really want to do it ourselves but cant think of what the problem may be.
Our brake lights stopped working.
We checked the bulbs, the fuses, the brake light switch, our turn signals and other lights work! What is wrong!!!?

  • Is there an Advance Auto Parts near you? Sometimes they will help with minor questions like this. It could be a bad relay switch.

  • If you cant figure it out send me a message with the car details and I can ask my DH if he has any ideas. He's a master mechanic.

  • What kind of car is it? Sometimes there's manufactures Technical Service Bulletins that show certain defects for that specific vehicle. I can look it up if you want...

  • It sounds like there's a short in the wires. Has it ever been wired to hook a trailer of any sort?
