Are Deer known to eat Roses?

My rose bushes were finally beautiful this year and this afternoon all my roses were gone except one! At first I thought someone came and took them but now I am considering Deer since we have so many living in the woods behind us.

  • Here is what you do! Take those slivers of bar soap you get when they are down to nothing, place them in a small piece of cloth or dryer sheet and tie it to your tree/bush and it will keep the deer away. A trick I learned living in the country married to a man who hunted. I went along once. You can't whisper, take a shower, clean any part of your body, no parfume, no soap, no tooth paste. Basically you need to be nasty and foul smelling as not to scare them away. Soooo boring! lol Good luck.
