How often does your OB check you for dilation?

When I had my son I went with midwives and they didn't do a pelvic check for dilation until around the time I reached my due date. I am considering going with an OB next time, but I was curious how often will the check and starting at what point? (It's so uncomfortable!).

  • mine started checking me weekly one month before my due date.

  • usually at 37 weeks then just once a week til you have your baby

  • what Mrs. Owen said. but mine started at 36 weeks. I was high risk.

  • never....i got checked twice when I was in the hospital and i wasn't dilated at all. I had an emergency c-section at 32 weeks.

  • They started checking me at 36 weeks if I remember right... from then on I think they checked at every appt so every week. Had my daughter at 39 wks.
