computer virus and flash/jump drive

Can a virus infect a flash drive / jump drive? If so, is there any way to screen it to know if it is safe or to remoce the virus? Thanks for any help!

  • Plug in the flash drive and run your antivirus. Trend Micro's Housecall is the best free tool out there; in the past it caught a virus that McAfee missed: http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

  • Yes, if if you put a file with a virus on the jump drive it infects the jump drive. Your virus protection should detect it.
