  • First time I had this it was at at a picnic.
    COLORADO BEANS

1/2 lb sliced bacon (cook and remove from pan)
4 large onions (slice, cook in bacon grease or cooking spray)
    1/2 cup brown sugar
    1/2 cup vinegar

    1 can green limas
    1 can butter beans
    1 can pork and beans
    1 can kidney beans

Drain all beans except pork and beans. Mix with bacon and onions, add vinegar and brown sugar.

Bake in 2 quart casserole at 325F for 1 hour or in crockpot all day or overnight.

[I use a crockpot, and I don't bother cooking the onions. It does cut down on the amount of fat.]
