weird rash question

My 20 yr. old daughter noticed this rash on top of her left foot a few days ago. Didn't think anything of it, thought maybe it was a bug bite or something. Definite "pimples", not just redness. It started itching 2 days ago. We put Aveeno lotion w/calamine on it which takes care of it until it wears off. She says it cannot be poison ivy b/c she hasn't been anywhere to get it, plus, if she had come in contact, her foot was covered. It is ONLY on this one foot. No other symptoms (fever, etc.) and it doesn't seem to be spreading. What in the world could this be, and should we spend the money to see a doctor? A pharmacist suggested using cortisone cream. What do you all think?

  • It could be Athlete's Foot. Try Lotrimin AF lotion and see if that clears up the rash. If it doesn't go away after about 5 days, have her go to the doctor.
