Hair Dye question??

I just dyed my hair and the kids are wanting to go to the pool this afternoon. Is it ok to get it wet? I don't want to end up with green hair or something else weird with it!

  • depends. if its a blond theres a good chance itll grab green from the chlorine. if it does grab green, a clarifying shampoo will help get it out, but it can also strip your color a bit (especially if its a darker color). if you are going swimming. put some conditioner in it and leave it in there. that will help protect it a little.

  • What shade did you dye it? Be careful if you have used anything with ash because your hair will turn green if mixed with chlorine.

  • When I would dye it I would put on a swimming cap.

  • If you slather your hair with conditioner before you get in the water, the clorine will "eat" at the conditioner, and not your hair.

  • I would not go near a pool today. Even if you just got your nails done. It eats up the nails.....
