VA Loan ?'s

How picky was the VA when they did your home inspection? Was the process easy? Would you recommend going with the VA? Does the veteran's disability rating factor in at all?

  • VA home loan inspections are very particular. I worked at a mortgage company and the VA nitpicks. The loan process is the same as any other mortgage though you may need a few more documents to complete the loan. I don't remember if the disability rating has anything to do with the loan or not. And yes, it is worth going through the VA loan for a mortgage the rate and terms can be a lot better and down payment is less, if any at all. Contact a mortgage company, bank or the VA for more info.

  • Thank you. We heard we'd have to put new handrails up, fix all broken glass in windows...that sort of thing. Stuff we hoped to do after we bought the place.
