can a hot bath really start labor contractions?

i read on ( at least i think it was ) that a hot bath can start labor contractions, im 38 weeks, going to be 39 weeks, i dont know if its a myth, or if its the truth

  • Not. It is dangerous for it to be TOO hot, but a hot bath can relax you and slow down contractions. I hope you aren't trying to induce. Trust your body and baby, nature knows what is right.

  • Im not positive, but I'd imagine that its true. A bath relaxes you. Try it and see. BUT DONT DO TOO HOT OF A BATH : ) GOOD LUCK

  • Any major increase in temperature is not good for you and DEFINITELY not good for baby.
