Do you name your child a certain name then call them by their nickname instead?

Or give them a nickname, I named our kids and call them by their names not a nickname if that was the case I would have named them the nickname. Right!

  • My son's name is Tyce && that's what I call him. Some people try to call him Ty, but I am very quick to correct them. I hate Ty && if I wanted him to be called that, then that's what I would have named him.

I might call him a pet name, like baby or some other made-up term, but as far as shortening his name, no, it's short enough.

  • I call my son by his name, but I call my daughter piku. It's just something that stuck and I wouldn't name my child that. Futhermore, nicknames are just names that come afterwards. After you learn their personalities, right?

  • My daughter's name is Natalie and I sometimes call her Natty Bug or Nat. My son's name is Benjamin and I sometimes call him Ben, Benny Boo, or Ben Ben. My name is Samantha and my mom always called me Sam, Sammy Jo, or Sammy wammy. I was Samantha when she was a little mad and Samantha Renee when she was really mad.

  • I named my boys Nicholas Andrew and Brian Thomas. I don't like "Nicky" but I'm fine with "Nick," and Brian, is well, Brian! Our last name begins with "K" so when Nicholas was a baby (and even now to playfully tease him), I called him "Nick NAK (initials) Paddy Whack!" Brian is sometimes called "Bri-guy" But those nicknames are just between us.
