What should I do when my 14 month old hits?

  • Get down to his level and look him in the eye and grab his hand and firmly but calmly say something like "No Hitting, not nice" It may take a while, as with all things you teach them, but be consistant. Thats what I did with my daughter around that age, shes almost 18 months now and very rarely hits anymore.

  • 1 min time out every time he hits.
    also I agree with getting eye level & saying no hitting use your nice hands.
