my daughter is 8 weeks old and her bath soap seems to make her skin red and dry what can we use?

We are using Johnsons baby soap, just the regular one . Is there any other baby soap we can use for sensitive baby skin ? Thank you all .

  • Most Target's carry California Baby & Weleda, they are free of crazy stuff like Johnson's has. If you have a good health food store near you, check them out, they might carry Earth Mama Angel Baby (best. stuff. ever.) (and I heard from another mom Costco carries it but I'm not sure). Also, since your baby is so young you don't need to bathe her everyday, just a quick rinse in water is fine since it's summer.

  • im a pediatric nurse myself and if your bathing baby every day its not needed every 2-3 days is all they need specially with sensitive skin . Johnsons baby soap and all that is too much fragrance to sensitive skin switch to auquphor baby or aveeno baby. both are for sensitive skin and dye and fragrance free.

  • Ivory bar soap. There are oatmeal based baby products for the ones with sensitive skin.

  • Aveeno for sensitive skin. Walmart makes a generic that's just as good. Two of my kids have eczema and this is what worked for them. It's really gentle.

  • Instead of using soap, you can grind some oatmeal (the old fashioned kind, not the quick oats) into a find powder, put some on a wet cloth, and use that to wash her instead. You can use it in her hair too. Just give a good rinse afterwards.

  • There's lots of soaps for baby's that are made for sensitive skin. California Baby and Burt's Bee's makes some. Also, because baby's skin is so sensitive as is, I wouldn't bath her too much. Check and make sure the lotion you're using isn't irritating baby's skin.

  • Burt's Bees and Phisoderm. Phisoderm is a little expensive, but it works wonders and smells so good.
