  • Start now with the "always wear a helmet" habit. Make sure that you wear one, too.

  • Yes - it's better to start the habit NOW and apply it to anything with wheels. As she grows older, you won't have to start setting new rules or trying to differentiate when to use or not use - helmets should be worn anytime a person (child or adult) rides on anything with wheels.

  • hmmm..i never made my daughter wear a helmet on her tricycle..unless we were on the road..but in the backyard for her riding around, she never wore one..however, now shes on a real bike and she MUST wear one at all times..back, front, road, park, anywhere and everyhere!!

  • I agree. Your child needs a helmet.

  • Yes. Anytime they are on anything that moves (power wheels, tricycle, bicycle, anything like that ) they need a helmet. Even a fall from that distance can cause brain damage.

  • Yes! Better safe than sorry.

  • YES!!!! Children need helmets anytime they use anything with wheels, no matter what age or where they will be riding. I have a rule, No helmet, no riding. My son has had a concussion because he decided to sneak out and ride his bike with no helmet. Go to any brain injury department at a children's hospital and see what can happen when a child hits their head from not having a helmet on. In some cities, it is law that ALL children under 16 wear helmets when riding a bike, a scooter or while rollerblading.

  • I did for my girls. They can still fall over even though they have three wheels.

  • Yes and no. When they are toddlers, it is much easier to say "no helmet, no trike" than it is to suddenly convince a preschooler they need a helmet. We have one for my 2 year old, and she puts it on without questions. It is something we're doing to make it easier down the road!
