How much time is needed to fully switch an infant from formula to whole milk?

I know you're supposed to do it gradually, but how much time is good? A month?

How did you do it?

  • I have done mine over the past month.

I started with 1/4 milk, 3/4 formula, did that for a week, then moved up to 50/50, then went to 3/4 milk with 1/4 formula. Now we have about 3 days left worth of formula for her night time milk, then we're done.

I just upped the milk amount every week by 1/4.

  • I bottlefed my twin boys formula and with them it only took a few days. and they were on soy. if it is normal formula then its all cows milk anyways to the transition into whole milk should be easy.
