My son has a fever! How much motrin do I give my 15 month (22 lbs)old? I forget what the doctor told me last time

  • my son is 14months and i give him 0.8ml of tylenol. i am not sure about motrin...sorry

  • Call the doctor or pharmacy and they will give you the correct dosage.

  • Lucky for you, I came across my old chart the other day & nearly threw it out (as my kids are all older now)... but I figured it might still come in handy somehow :-)

    12-23 mos (& 18-23 lbs):

    Tylenol (0.8cc per dropper): 1 1/2 droppers
    Tylenol Elixer (5cc per tsp): 1/4 tsp
    Ibuprofen Drops (1.25cc per dropper): 1/2 - 1 dropper
    Ibuprofen Suspension (5 cc per tsp): 1/4 - 1/2 tsp

  • How high is the fever? I always just let my kid's fevers go because that's the body's way of killing whatever is ailing them.

  • Give him 0.8ml of tylenol and after 2 hours give him motrin 0.8ml then 2 hrs. later start with tylenol again keep alternating until he feels better but don't go over 24 hours. this is what I do for my babies and kids. Hope your baby feels better.
