Do you think Congress should appeal the 22nd Amendment?

Earlier this year, Rep. Jose Serrano, D-N.Y. introduced H. J. Res. 5, a
bill that would repeal the Constitutions 22nd Amendment which prohibits a president from being elected to more than two terms in office, thus potentially paving the way to make Barack Obama president for life. Not surprisingly, the corporate media currently caught up in Obama-mania has not covered this story.
Bill Actions
a.. Feb 09, 2009: Referred to the Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties.
b.. Jan 06, 2009: Referred to the House Committee on the Judiciary.

Wake up Americans. If this happens, here comes a Dictator. Do you want that ? Write your politicians.

  • No, this should not be repealed. I want more term limits! Term limits for Congress, too!

The longer someone is in office, the more likely power will corrupt.

  • No, I don't think that it should be repealed. I do not think that anything good can come from allowing any politician to hold the presidency for longer than eight years, period!

  • They tried to use the precedent set by Guiliani to extend Bush during the 2001 terrorist attack and it was shot down. Bloomberg is currently trying to lift the term limit as well.

Personally, I am in favor of term limits, even if it means someone I don't agree with is Pres or Representative or Mayor or Gov.

  • I can not fathom Congress trying to appeal anything in our Constitution, but apparently they are trying. I do not believe that it should be touched under any circumstances.
