Changing from bottle to sippy cup.

My daughter got really sick awhile back and would only drink from a sippy cup that was like a bottle nipple.. Well since then, she will not drink from a sippy cup.. she's almost 10 months, and she is refusing sippy cups.. I want to try to switch cause the longer she stays on bottle the harder it will be to get her to switch.. What are some ways you switched your little ones??

  • What about try having her drink straight from a normal cup? My daughter wouldn't take a bottle, so she went straight to a real cup... THEN a sippy cup so that she could give herself the drink. Try doing that?? Good luck!

  • She will drink from a cup, so i bought one today that is kinda like a coffee cup i suppose, where she would tilt it like a cup, but have to suck a little for it to come out*that way when she puts it down it doesnt leak* I haven't tried that one yet but i will tomorrow. Just a stressful process lol

  • Heres what worked for me....both times :D. Give her a bottle with the formula as usual, then when its time for her juice, use the sippy. She will want the juice moe than the formula. If she won't use the cup, she don't get her juice. Really it sounds mean, but you have to teach them somehow. With the ritual, i had them both on the cup in 2 weeks...fultime sippy. Good Luck hun. Hope it works for you too.

  • She wont drink juice. She did for awhile, then stopped. lol With her being almost 10 months, what all juices can i give her?? Maybe if i switch the juice she might find one she prefers. Tomorrow i'm gonna only give her bottle when its nap time or bed time. Other then that she will have sippy.. So hopefully she will just suck it up and drink from sippy when she finally realizes thats the only way she will get her formula

  • Give her a regular cup. It will take practice but she'll get the hang of it. We gave our DD one when she was about 7 months.
